Movement & Massage Therapy

Old Oak Bodywork is for those who train their body and mind to perform at their best. This means prioritizing recovery and therapeutic modalities to stay healthy and be a life-long mover.

01

Fascia Focused

Bodies consist of a vast network of muscle, bone, and tissue all bound together with fascia. With this in mind, assessment and treatment will move through layers and relationships that uncover the dynamic that's causing your pain and limitation.

02

Kinesiology Informed

Movement, or lack thereof, is typically the root of our structural issues. Based on a thorough understanding of anatomy & physiology along with over a decade of practical application teaching yoga for athletes, you can expect bodywork that reveals your imbalances and informs more symmetrical patterns.

03

Client Centered

While manual therapy can be a painful experience, overwhelm can easily become an obstacle to lasting results. In order to keep you in a relaxed and receptive state, each session's focus, pace and intensity are dictated by you and your level of comfort.

Steven is a California native living in San Diego. After spending much of his youth chasing excitement through extreme sports, he became hooked on climbing in 2009. While going through college in the LA area he spent many days outdoors studying the physical and mental challenges climbing provided. At the same time, his interest in philosophy, religion, and the exploration of one’s self brought him to yoga as the perfect complement.

Since 2013, Steven has been teaching yoga classes that blend wisdom from the past and personal anecdotes with anatomical accuracy and research-based methods to foster exploration and challenge that compliment one's athletic endeavors.

Continuing his path of learning, 2022 kicked off Steven's practice of bodywork and initiated his pursuit of a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science.

Stay tuned for the expanded toolkit!
